By becoming a member, you’ll not only enhance your umpiring skills but also contribute to the growth and professionalism of fastpitch softball officiating. Here’s everything you need to know about becoming a member, the benefits you’ll enjoy, and the simple registration process.

Our 2025 High School Softball Umpire Training Schedule is set — and we can’t wait to kick things off with you! Mark your calendars for these official meeting dates:
➡️ December 15 • January 5, 12, 26 • February 2
January 5, 2025 will be a Zoom Meeting to review the Study Guide ( 7:00-9:00 pm )
All meetings will tentatively be held at La Mirada High School. 13520 Adelfa Dr, La Mirada, CA 90638
As a member, you’ll have multiple ways to earn hours toward your certification:
- 🕒 2.5 hours for each unit meeting
- 🏫 4 hours for attending ASA or CSOA training
- ✍️ 2 hours for completing the Study Guide
- 🧠 2 hours for passing the Certification Test
That’s a total of 20.5 hours of opportunity to meet your 18-hour certification requirement — and build the skills to shine on the field this season.

You have 2 options for registration in terms of completing the form(s). You can download the PDF’s from the links below, or scroll to the bottom of the page and click the link to register button which will open an online form. Please read all the material below before choosing an option.
Registration for the 2026 season is now open. Last year we had a successful season. We hope you will consider rejoining the unit.
The following is what you need to know to join the unit and qualify for the season.
- Membership Dues are $130
- Late fee is effective December 11, 2025. Late dues are $175
- Super Late fee is effective January 1, 2026. Super late dues are $200
Fees may be paid by check made payable to ‘CSOA LONG BEACH UNIT’ or VENMO to @ralph-aranda (my picture with real estate sign in background)
All members must provide proof of liability insurance (NASO, USA, NFHS and submit the attached completed forms (forms are linked):
